Oscars Hair Everyone Can Rock!

February 27, 2019

The Oscars this year was full of gorgeous gowns, but if you’re like us then you were definitely checking out the hair. From intricate braids, long dramatic ponytails, to last minute color changes, we took it all in. There were several hairstyles that we couldn’t stop obsessing over because they were stunning, effortless, and would look great on anyone!

A Bold Brunette Bob

This was possibly the most popular hair trend on the red carpet. Many stars opted for the short and sharp approach. Charlize Theron, a normally blonde haired beauty, switched it up for the big day and dyed her hair dark brown. Her hair was cut to chin length, which framed her face to perfection! A couple of other stars that rocked this look as well were Irina Shayk and Emilia Clarke.

Irina Shayk’s deep brown, asymmetrical bob boasted a brilliant shine and smooth finish. Her stylist used, one of our favorites, Aveda’s Brilliant Spray-On Shine that contains vitamin E oil to provide a glossy shine and eliminate frizz.

Polished Bun

Prom and wedding season are right around the corner and this elegant, sophisticated look is a sure winner! What’s great about buns is that they can be worn in versatile ways. Emma Stone had a voluminous sculpted bun with a side part while Jennifer Hudson went for a slick, pulled into a middle part bun. To create a lifted style, we love using Aveda’s Phomollient Styling Foam. When creating a more defined style, we use Aveda’s Brilliant Gel because it can provide hold and shine.

Effortless Beach Waves

We know Valentine’s Day just passed, but these loose waves on Amy Adams are so romantic! Her subtle blonde highlights amidst her copper hair only play up the look even more. These lovely curls are so easy to achieve too! Using a large barrel curling iron and a firm hold hair spray, such as Aveda’s Firmata Hairspray to finish it off, you can have dreamy hair in no time.

High Ponytail

Constance Wu made us want to wear a ponytail everyday. Her hair was pulled all the way back into a high ponytail that had long “S” shaped curls that fell down her back. Altogether, the hairstyle was extremely youthful and dazzling. This look is achievable for anyone, even our shorthaired beauties that want to feel like a Disney princess. We can add extensions to help you achieve a long and thick hairstyle.

Pushed Back Curls

Trying to show off your gorgeous accessories but you don’t want to settle for half up, half down again, a pushed back hairstyle is your answer. This show-stopping hairstyle is great for someone with curly or straight hair because anyone can reach the ultimate effect with the right steps. Applying products with hold, teasing the hair, and using a combination of curling/straightening iron are the basic steps to pushed back hair.
